old geezer

bday today! feeling old, but it's great to have many well-wishes! i'm lucky for that. just'll use the energy to get rolling despite the miserable weather up here.

after listening to much music by los hermanos (from brazil), i've decided they're one of my favorite artists. probably up there with radiohead, sigur rós, and others. although they broke up they're still kicking as individuals marcelo camelo (http://www.myspace.com/marcelocamelo) and rodrigo amarante (http://www.myspace.com/rodrigoamarante).

got my gre done: 1290: 570 verbal, 720 on the math. i believe that i did a great job on the writing portion as well, but i'm not really sure how that is taken into account yet. finally! now i can start applying for jobs and focus on getting back in school!

side note, for anyone who takes the gre: remember about the experimental portions, when there are three sections for verbal and analytical (aka 2 of one), one won't count. i figured this out as i did great on the 2nd verbal, only to notice at the end one problem style was different than i had seen in any pretests. ulgh. oh well! sent scores to a three different institutions, we'll see step 2 once i apply!

allright, after much preparation, i'm getting on the boxing gloves for round two. tomorrow at noon, i'll take on the heavyweight for the title. just have got to keep my head, concentrate on the details, and not let the time shortage get to me. hope all's well with everyone.
